What to Expect
A place for everyone!
Bethel Church is a welcoming community where people from all walks of life can come together to grow in faith, build relationships, and serve one another. Located in rural Alberta between Carstairs and Cremona, Bethel Church has a rich history of ministry in this community since 1903.
Today, Bethel is a regional church made up of people from surrounding communities including Carstairs, Cremona, Didsbury, Olds, Bergen, Water Valley, Dogpound, Crossfield, and beyond. We are blessed by the blend of long-time farming families, newer families drawn to small-town and acreage living, and everyone in between.
Our vision is to be a community of grace being transformed by Jesus and serving others with His love. Through Bible-based teaching, ministries for all ages, global mission support, and practical care for one another, we invite you to find a place to belong, grow, and serve.
What is Sunday service like?
When you arrive to the sanctuary, one of our hosts will be there to welcome you and help you find a seat. Our worship team will lead us in music, and you’re invited to participate in whatever way feels comfortable - whether that’s singing along, reflecting, or simply enjoying the moment.
The service also includes a Bible-based message that is encouraging, practical, and relevant to everyday life. Our hope is that you leave feeling welcomed, encouraged, and connected.
Common Questions
-
Most people arrive 5–10 minutes before the service begins, giving time to connect with others, sign children in for our kids program, and find a seat in the sanctuary. We also offer a coffee and connection time from 10:15–11:00 AM, and everyone is welcome to join us for conversation and fellowship.
If you arrive a few minutes late, don’t worry - we’d still love to have you join us. We’re excited to welcome you to Bethel!
-
Come dressed in whatever feels comfortable for you! Bethel is a fairly informal and welcoming community. It’s common to see everything from blue jeans and a nice shirt to more casual attire. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and welcome.
-
Children are dismissed partway through the service to participate in their own kids program (sign-in takes place before the service begins). During this time, children gather in age-appropriate groups for a Bible lesson, crafts, snacks, and other engaging activities led by caring volunteers.
Kids are divided by grade and age level to help create an environment where they can learn, connect, and grow. Parents can pick up their children from their designated area once the service has ended.
